The Hotel Sewenig has changed with each generation. Grandma ran the Sewenig as a dance and dining establishment with a hall. Parents Jupp & Renate ran a homely, regional inn with guest rooms. Until I, Maike, took over the helm in 2005, I was torn between studying - I completed my studies - and the opportunity to implement modern, culinary ideas in the Sewenig. After buying the hotel, I started renovating bathrooms and guest rooms, and we also remodeled parts of the public area and the kitchen:
The idea was to create something new without abandoning the parents' successful path.
But the whole thing about vacations has changed, especially in the last few years. Vacations today are short-term, with lots of things "packed" into one day and spiced up and changed with modern ingredients. The basis, however, is not changed - that's why guests like to come back to us.
